🌟 Merkaba Temple | FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

🕊️ What is Merkaba Temple?
Merkaba Temple is a spiritual sanctuary for awakening souls. We are a legally registered Private Ministerial Association (PMA) in the State of Texas, founded by Christopher Shaw and stewarded in partnership with Aeon Archer. Our purpose is to offer sacred teachings, transformational experiences, and devotional community that support spiritual embodiment, healing, and collective evolution.
We are not affiliated with any specific religion, but honor the wisdom of many lineages—including Hinduism, Buddhism, mystical Christianity, Indigenous earth traditions, and yogic science.
Merkaba Church Evolves into Merkaba Temple
With joy and reverence, we are honored to announce that Merkaba Church is now Merkaba Temple (Press Release 08/15/2025)
This evolution reflects the living, breathing nature of our path. Many of you have shared that the word church did not fully capture the essence of what we are building together. Our community has always been more than one tradition or doctrine. We are a sanctuary of devotion, a meeting place of sacred lineages, and a vessel for the Great Mystery.
Why the Change?
By becoming Merkaba Temple, we align more deeply with who we already are:
-
A temple of light where seekers, leaders, and lovers of Spirit gather.
-
A sanctuary for all faiths and traditions, rooted in devotion, service, and awakening.
-
A home for sacred practices of prayer, meditation, ceremony, song, and service.
What This Means
-
Our offerings, retreats, and online services remain the same, now flowing through the name Merkaba Temple.
-
Our nonprofit and ministerial structure remains intact, continuing to serve our members with transparency and devotion.
-
Our mission has not changed: we exist to awaken the Divine within each being, to walk in wholeness, and to serve the greater good.
A Word from Our Founding Steward, Christopher:
“The word ‘Temple’ speaks to the sacredness of our gatherings, the universality of our devotion, and the sanctuary we are called to be for all souls. This is not a departure, but a fulfillment — Merkaba Temple is who we have always been.”
Together, may we continue to walk the path of devotion, freedom, and sacred service.
Om Namah Shivaya. Om Guru Om. Amen. Aho. Ase.
💠 Is Merkaba Temple a cult?
No. Merkaba Temple is not a cult.
We understand that when people see a new spiritual community, especially one that operates outside of mainstream religious or therapeutic models, questions can arise. We welcome those questions.
Merkaba Temple is grounded in:
-
Free will and consent
-
Personal sovereignty
-
Spiritual diversity and inclusion
-
Transparency and dialogue
We do not isolate people from their families. We do not coerce or manipulate. We do not require money for salvation or impose belief systems. Our practices are invitational, not prescriptive.
Our mission is to help individuals reconnect with the Divine within themselves—not to worship a leader or doctrine.
🔐 What is a Private Ministerial Association (PMA)?
A PMA is a private spiritual organization that exists to serve its members, outside the jurisdiction of commercial or governmental interference. This legal structure protects freedom of spiritual expression, allows us to offer private spiritual services, and keeps our community safe from overreach.
Members choose to engage with us voluntarily. Everything we offer—from retreats to online services to counseling—is by invitation and consent.
